Angela wins Syracuse Ironman 70.3

Another course record is broken

What do you do if you're more than three minutes behind the leader after finishing the swim in a half-ironman? If you're Punk Rock Racing athlete Angela Naeth, you bicycle 23.68 miles per hour to take over the lead. And then you go run a half-marathon in 1:23.

That's how Angela's day went last weekend at the Syracuse Ironman 70.3, which she won in 4:16:27. It was her third triathlon win this year alone.

Angela completed the mile swim in 28:01, coming out of the water in sixth place and 3:37 behind her main competition. The speedy cyclist began making up time over the 56-mile bike ride. She finished it in 2:21:55 and had taken the lead before she started the 13.1-mile run. Her 6:21 pace put her even further ahead, and Angela finished the race more than three minutes ahead of the second-place female.

As if winning wasn't enough, Angela also broke the course record. (That seems to be a trend these days.) Congratulations, Angela!
