Jeanne wins the Island Lake Triathlon

She easily leads the entire women's race

Memorial Day weekend turned out to be quite memerable for Punk Rock Racing's own Jeanne DeBonis. With the Pittburgh Marathon just a few weeks ago and a big block of training on her schedule for the long weekend, Jeanne picked the local Island Lake Olympic Distance Triathon for some holiday weekend fun.

Having not raced a triathlon since London nine months ago, Jeanne was anxious to race, have fun and maybe hang out atop a podium for a bit at the end of the day.

Jeanne exited the water leading the women's field and she never looked back. Having said this, the race was not without some excitement. The bike portion of the race saw some serious drafting pentalties that went unnoticed by the race officials and had several riders, Jeanne included, calling out the cheaters as they came into transition.

Once off the bike, Jeanne nailed the run and took top female finisher and 9th overall on the day.

Congratulations to Jeanne on this impressive win, and we wish her all the best with her upcoming training. Well done, Jeanne.
