Sonja Wieck summer 2013 update

She's winning, racing and winning some more

To say Punk Rock Racing athlete Sonja Wieck is having a great 2013 race season would be a big understatement. Working with her new coach, Sonja started 2013 with a 3rd place finish at the Oceanside 70.3 and then went on to destroy the completion at the American Championships at St. George by not only winning her age group but finishing as top female amateur. She also found herself on the podium at the Boulder 70.3 event earlier this month with a solid performance on a hot day in Colorado.

Sure, her half Ironman results have been impressive, but they can’t compare to the clinic she put on at Ironman Brasil. Not only did Sonja score her first sub-10-hour Ironman, but she also won her age group AND took top amateur female for the 140.6-mile event -- oh, and she punched her ticket to Kona (again).

With three more events on her radar in 2013, Punk Rock Racing is confident that Sonja will continue to impress with her gutsy performances and podium finishes.

Look for Sonja to show Lady Luck who’s who at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas on September 8th.

Go Sonja!
